Stollen

Traditional German Christmas bread. Our fruit mix contains candied orange, lemon, cherries, raisins and sliced almonds macerated with Rhum and Becherovka. This mixture is folded into a sourdough enriched dough, spiced with our Lebkuchen mix and stuffed with marzipan, before being baked and doused in melted butter and dusted with sugar. Rumour has it, that some adventurers like to melt some butter in their cast iron pans, and lightly fry their stollen until the marzipan is soft enough to be scooped and spread on the freshly toasted slice.) We can’t confirm nor deny the benefits of this approach, but it does sounds like a solid start any winter morning.

Shelf life: As long as it is properly wrapped and stored away from sunlight, you can keep it and enjoy it on Easter. (But who wants to do that anyway?)
